We offer two sessions for preschool-aged children. All current and incoming CDS students are welcome, as well as students from the community who are at least four years old. Camp operates much like the typical preschool day at CDS: campers will enjoy morning circle, outdoor play, lunch, nap, snack, art, and visits to the farm and garden.

CDS Summer Camp 2022 offers the following sessions for preschool campers:

World Travelers (June 20-24, July 25-29)

Calling all intrepid explorers! Join us for a fast-paced two weeks of transcontinental travel. We will circle the globe to learn about music, language, clothing, art and much more from all around the world. Africa, Asia, South America, here we come!

Feathers, Scales, and Slime, Oh My! (June 27-July 1, August 1-5)

Are you curious about beaks, claws, gills, talons, tails, and scales? If so, we have the camp for you! In Feathers, Scales and Slime, Oh My (which is back for a third year), you’ll become familiar with different types of birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians. You’ll even get to learn about our favorite extinct friends, the dinosaurs, or become an expert bird watcher and bug hunter!

Little Chefs (July 5-8)

Join us for a week of culinary adventures! We’ll explore flavors from spicy to sweet to savory as we create our very own recipes. We will harvest fruit and vegetables from our garden and use math to measure, weigh, and sort our ingredients. We’ll conduct experiments with everyday items found in the kitchen and write our own cookbooks. During this week, all the wonders and possibilities of cooking will be explored – don’t miss out on this culinary treat!

Mad Scientists (July 11-15)

From teachers to students, everyone can be a scientist. We will be exploring all kinds of science experiments, including painting with ice, making mud bricks, learning how to turn a cup into a phone, and creating awesome goo with nothing but our hands. Join us for a week of science exploration, where our minds and bodies will be fully engaged in a variety of enriching experiments!

Garden Stories and Nature Walks (July 18-22, August 8-12)

Using our very own flowers, trees, chickens, and sheep as inspiration for art projects and stories, we’ll read books in the garden, play games to develop characters and plots, and much more. We’ll also explore the greenscapes of our city, using our wild imaginations to explore the outdoors.
